Hindu-Christians Are Not Getting Food Supply In PAK: US Commission On Religious Freedom

The impact of the corona virus is currently overshadowing almost every country in the world. In Pakistan too, thousands of cases of corona virus have been reported at this time, but Pakistan is discriminating people on the basis of religion.

In Pakistan, Ration and other essential items were distributed to the people in Karachi by the local administration, but the Hindus in Karachi returned empty-handed. Local administration told them that this relief was not for Hindus but only for the people of the Muslim community. The population of Hindus in Sindh is around 5 lakhs.

The American Commission, which provides opinions on religious issues around the world, has condemned the Pakistan for discriminating people on the basis of religion.

A statement has been issued by the United States Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) on Monday, condemning Pakistan.

USCIRF said, “The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) is troubled by the reports of food aid being denied to Hindus and Christians amid the spread of COVID-19 in Pakistan.”

“These actions are simply reprehensible,” stated USCIRF Commissioner Anurima Bhargava. “As COVID-19 continues to spread, vulnerable communities within Pakistan are fighting hunger and to keep their families safe and healthy. Food aid must not be denied because of one’s faith. We urge the Pakistani government to ensure that food aid from distributing organizations is shared equally with Hindus, Christians, and other religions minorities.”
