In a massive development to the Bodh Gaya explosive case, Republic TV has accessed the NIA chargesheet that reveals the terror plot by suspected terrorists to target spiritual leader Dalai Lama. Recently, the Police had recovered traces of explosives from Zahidhul Islam alias Muneer's house at Ramanagara district in Karnataka in connection to the case. As many as seven have been arrested so far.
The chargesheet names Paigambar Sheikh, Ahmad Ali and Nur Alam Momin as accused.
It further states that the accused persons contacted and assembled together at various places, took hideouts at Jahanabad and Masaurhi in Bihar, carried out reconnaissance of the targets at Bodhgaya and procured explosives and other materials for the manufacture of the IED.

In January 2018, Security forces recovered two powerful live bombs fitted with suspected improvised explosive devices (IED) from near the world-heritage Mahabodhi temple in Bihar’s Bodh Gaya, where Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama was holding religious sessions. Two bombs, weighing 10 kg each, from the high-security zone manned by more than 3,000 personnel was seized.
